Product Manager - Growth/SEO

Wyzant is currently looking for an experienced product manager to help us lead and refine our SEO strategy.  In this role, you will manage and optimize our long tail keyword strategy, tutor sites, and Resources section. You will also help us define the SEO vision by researching and developing new SEO focused products, which entails prioritizing features, writing detailed requirements, managing development, and measuring results in production.  Our technical SEO team will help you with any additional SEO training required to be successful in this position so that you can make a major impact to one of the most important parts of our business.


  • Develop and drive SEO product strategy based on business objectives, identified and unarticulated needs, competitive landscape, and resource constraints.  Work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop this strategy into an achievable roadmap.
  • Learn what makes Wyzant users (in this case, search engine bots) tick through research, data analysis, testing, competitive research and other relevant SEO tools.
  • Lead projects through definitional / discovery stages, ensuring we’re solving the right problems and are tracking back to our goals.
  • Research, write, analyze and prioritize requirements and acceptance criteria for the SEO development team.
  • Work in an agile environment, managing sprints and creatively parsing large initiatives into smaller iterations and tests.  
  • Facilitate communication across business groups and stakeholders throughout all phases of project work, from ideation to measurement.  

Key Competencies:

  • Strong technical or product expertise - the ability to analyze business problems and drive game-changing solutions. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience as a product manager or engineer in consumer internet or consumer tech companies.
  • Understanding of SEO and content marketing growth strategies.
  • Track record of success in fast-paced organizations with matrixed reporting environments, using collaborative approaches to drive effective solutions when no direct reporting structure relationship exists.  
  • User-focused instincts for product design and development.
  • Innovative problem solver who can turn ambiguous problem areas into clear solutions.
  • Leader accustomed to driving results in collaborative, cross-functional environments with little instruction or oversight.
  • Clear communicator (both written and oral) comfortable in front of all team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large quantities of information and to deliver data driven solutions.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, MBA a plus.
